The TTS group has grown rapidly over recent years, with a policy of providing responsive customer service, innovation and added value in markets across the world – a strategy, which is paying off as the company consolidates its market influence with increasing recognition among shipowners and yards. The consistent excellence of service performance that TTS provides is leading not only to wins of new contracts, but also to repeated business as customers return for more.

TTS Ships Equipment AB is a prime example of this. During the first five months 2007, it has been awarded a total of nine additional contracts generated from previous orders. The contracts entail the delivery of RoRo equipment to vessels now building at yards in Finland, Germany, China and Japan.

In Finland, Aker Yards has ordered the delivery of RoRo equipment to its third Galaxy RoPax vessel, to be built for Tallink. The vessel, intended for Tallink’s Baltic routes, will be a sister ship to previous newbuild numbers 435 and 1361. TTS will design, construct and install the stern and bow access equipment, a hoistable car deck and side shell doors. The delivery of equipment is scheduled for April 2008, with the ship’s delivery in May 2009.

In Germany, orders have been received for the supply of RoRo equipment to an additional four vessels in Flensburger’s series of RoRo ships for Cobelfret and Bore. In March 2006, two additional RoRos were contracted for Cobelfret, sisters to the existing orders of four vessels for the same owner. The new ships, numbers 742-743, will be equipped with stern ramp, ramp cover and side shell doors. The TTS equipment is scheduled for delivery to the yard in July 2010 and September 2011 respectively. In April an additional two vessels were added to the series, hull numbers 744-745. The vessels, contracted with Bore, will be equipped with the same cargo access equipment, to be delivered to the yard in July 2010 and September 2011 respectively. For both contracts the TTS delivery will include design, plus supervision during installation, of a complement of RoRo equipment with supporting hydraulic and electric systems. Including these vessels, the series at Flensburger covered by the TTS orderbook now totals eight.

The Chinese yard Jingling has won building contracts for two new vessels in addition to a previous series of 11,000 tdw RoRo ships for the UK company Norbulk Shipping. The additional vessels, hull numbers 404 and 405, are sisters to previous numbers 402 and 403. The TTS delivery to these vessels comprises two stern ramps, a ramp cover and pilot and bunker doors. TTS will deliver the design, vital parts and hydraulic/electric systems to the yard during 2008.

In Japan, Wilh. Wilhelmsen has extended its series of 6,400-unit pure car/truck carriers at Mitsubishi’s Nagasaki yard with two more vessels, the ninth and the tenth in the series. Hull numbers S2244 and S2245 will be identical sisters to the previous eight. The TTS contract includes design, complete equipment delivery and supervision during installation of quarter and side ramps, plus internal ramps and covers with associated hydraulic and electric systems. The equipment will be delivered to the yard at the end of 2008 and in the beginning of 2009. In this series, six vessels have already been delivered to the owner, with two scheduled for 2008 and a further two in 2009.
