TTS-LMG in Germany has received an order for a complement of cargo cranes from Kou’an shipyard in the People’s Republic of China.
Under the €8 million contract, TTS will provide cranes for eight 57,000 DWT bulk cargo carriers. Four cranes per bulker, each with a 30-tonne capacity and a 28-metre outreach, will be delivered between 2008 and 2009.
“The Chinese market is currently very buoyant for these types of cranes,” said Thomas Krabiell, sales director, TTS-LMG Marine Cranes GmbH. “We are assuming more additions to our orderbook from this sector.”
Based in Lübeck, Germany, TTS-LMG specialises in wire-luffing cargo handling cranes, providing expertise in heavy-load handling, and transhipment requirements. The TTS Marine Cranes division spearheads the Far East market from both its Lübeck and Bergen operations.
